Since 1990, UT Southwestern's Lung Disease and Transplantation Program has performed more than 300 lung transplants. Since the program's inception, UT Southwestern has consistently been top-ranked in the region for survival rates.

Lung transplant specialists work with a team of physicians who specialize in all aspects of pulmonary, imaging and transplantation medicine. UT Southwestern's transplant specialists also provide the ongoing medical management and care needed for patients who are waiting for a transplant, as well as for those who have already received a transplant.

The collaborative efforts of physicians, nursing coordinators, dietitians, social workers and other counselors enables the lung transplant program to excel in providing excellent care to each patient.
