At UT Southwestern’s Clinical Center for Sleep and Breathing Disorders, the clinical evaluation starts with a comprehensive questionnaire that is completed and brought to the first appointment. Then the patient will meet with one of our sleep medicine clinical providers to formulate a diagnostic and treatment plan based on his or her specific needs and goals for therapy.

Our state-of-the-art equipment and supporting technologies include:

  • Actigraphy
    • Evaluation for irregular sleep/wake cycles
  • Continuous and Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure machines (CPAP and BPAP)
  • Cognitive and behavioral therapy
    • Management recommendations for insomnia
  • Home sleep studies (when indicated)
  • Light therapy
    • For management of circadian rhythm disorders
  • Medications and behavioral therapies for insomnia
  • Multiple sleep latency testing (MSLT)
