For the second year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked
UT Southwestern the Best Hospital in Dallas, with six nationally recognized specialties.

UT Southwestern Medical Center has once again been rated the No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth region in U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of America’s Best Hospitals.

Six nationally ranked specialties propelled UT Southwestern to its overall No. 1 ranking. That’s more than any other North Texas health care provider and the second consecutive year that six areas of care have earned leading marks.

Since 1990, U.S. News & World Report has identified the nation’s elite medical centers. Its Best Hospitals metro rankings can tell you which hospitals are worth considering for most medical problems if you live in or near a major metro area, according to the magazine. Rankings are determined by a combination of criteria, including objective measures of quality such as:

  • Mortality and patient safety rates
